SYNOPSIS
With one single snap, the world's first superhero crossed the line.
Diana, Princess of the Amazons (and the hero Wonder Woman as far back at the 1940s) had to kill Maxwell Lord, the living entity of Darkseid, to severe his link and save the world. But in the process, Diana turned her back on the one code she always followed: all life is precious. With a death on her hands, Diana has no choice but to pass on the title of Wonder Woman to someone new.
Enter Donna Troy: Wonder Woman's long time partner, and former Wonder Girl herself. However, as the very first Amazon to turn her back on her people and break the rules by falling in love, marrying, and giving birth, does this 'tainted' Amazon deserve the right to be the world's greatest female hero?

ORIGINS
Donna was always a girl who didn't seem to fit in. Even from birth, her story was one that was destined to be anything but greatness. Born from an unwed teenage mother who simply cared for no one but herself, she was left to die in an abandoned warehouse which the girl lit on fire, wanting to hide any trace of her daughter being born. However, the impossible arrived to save the day when one of the legendary Titans of Myth, Rhea, took the child from the realm of Earth to raise her as her own.
Quickly naming the child 'Donna Troy' (based on the City of Troy), Rhea was saddened when her fellow Titans of Myth didn't want a mortal in their midst. With a heavy heart, Rhea brought Donna back to Earth, but to a place where she knew she would be safe: in the waiting arms of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons. Before leaving to only be able to watch Donna grow up, Rhea blessed the child with abilities she would need to live with the Amazons: strength, speed, flight, and a keen intellect. With her daughter, Diana, serving as 'Wonder Woman' to man's world for the last 60 years, Hippolyta grew close to Donna, caring for her as she would her own daughter.
Eventually, Donna grew older and began to become interested in 'Man's World' due to the stories Diana would tell whenever she returned to Paradise Island. After pleading with Hippolyta, she was finally granted the chance to leave the Island, living with Diana under the guise that she is actually Diana's sister. Diana also decided to deputize Donna into her battle for peace and justice, giving her the codename of Wonder Girl.
For years, Diana and Donna fought side by side as partners, but as Donna grew older, her interest in the Island began to wain, and her interest in Man's world grew. Around the time she turned 18, Donna met a college professor named Terry Long who soon began a romance with Donna. He was the man that Donna eventually lost her virginity to, the first time an Amazon had ever made love. Donna and Terry eventually married, an act that led to Donna retiring officially as Wonder Girl. While Diana respected Donna's wishes and wished her well, Hippolyta was devistated. She and the Amazons of Paradise Island officially turned their backs on Donna for breaking the code of giving herself to any man, disowning her in the process.
But Donna was happy. She eventually became pregnant and welcomed a new born son into the world. It was the happiest Donna had ever been in her life...but it would not last long...
One night, Donna, Terry, and their infant son were involved in a violent car accident. Because of her powers, Donna survived the accident. Terry and their son did not. A grieving Widow, Donna had felt that she lost everything in her life that she loved. Her family. Her Amazon heritiege. There was nothing left for Donna.
Nothing but rage.
Donning a new uniform, Donna took up the codename of 'Troia', going back to her crimefighting roots as a means to unleash ehr pain and aggression. It was as if she were the reverse Wonder Woman, fueled by anger and hate, known throughtout the super hero world for her ultra-violent tactics. Then one day, unexpected help arrived for Donna. Wonder Woman banded together a group of young heroes consisting of Nightwing, Kid Flash, Speedy, Cyborg and the Tempest to try and assist Donna out of her rut. Eventually, Donna came to trust the young heroes and depend on them as her new best friends. Together, Donna suggested that the heroes call themselves the 'The Junior Justice League', and for the next few years, Donna was back to her old self.
But things quickly began to spiral out of control again. First Speedy found himself addicted to heroin and had to quit the team. Then the Crisis arrived, killing fellow JJL member the Tempest, but ironically enough, it would be a death during the Crisis that would change Donna's world again.
Harbringer was a young Amazon (and former friend to Donna) who had the ability to see the future, but after her death at the hands of Darkseid, Harbringer's power went to Donna, allowing her the ability to see visions of the future. With this ability, she assisted the heroes of the world to topple Darkseid and save the world. But at a tragic cost...
Diana had to kill Darkseid's human host, Max Lord of CHECKMATE, as a means to seal off Darkseid's means of unleash the Anti-Life Equation on the world. It was the first, last, and only life that Diana had ever taken, and was an action that stood against everything Diana stood for as Wonder Woman. With a heavy heart, Diana stepped down as Wonder Woman. But as she looked down at her Tiara, Diana knew that someone elses needed to be Wonder Woman. Someone who was able to represent the heritiege of the Amazon people, but still be a symbol of hope and justice for the common person in the world, man or woman.
Donna Troy was Diana's only choice.
Now, Donna dons the mantle of Wonder Woman. With her powers, weapons, and means to see the future, Donna stands as a member of the new Justice League of America, side by side with fellow former Junior members Dick Grayson and Wally West, ready to represent the power of women's right in the quest for peace.

STATUS QUO:
Diana's story is about the legacy of Wonder Woman while still being her own woman in the process. She has been Wonder Woman for a few months once the story picks up just as she joins the Justice League for the first time. The transition is actually rather quick due to her time as Wonder Girl simply being training for her arrival as Wonder Woman. The bullet proof bracelets and Lasso of Truth are almost identical to those used by Diana.
Diana is especially close to her teammates, especially Dick Grayson, the current Batman. When she was at her lowest, Dick was the first person to offer her help. It was an act that simply made them closer and closer ever since. Even to the point of a romance.
When not under the guise of Wonder Woman, Diana either stays in the JLA moonbase, using her Harbringer abilities to see if any potential dangers are about, or if she is Earthbound, she has a side-job as a photographer in New Jersey.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:
"I love Diana Prince, I really do (her story is coming soon), but in my mind, Wonder Woman needs to embody everything that a woman is. Not just the strength, and beauty, and heart, and courage, but also needs to experience the trials and tribulations that msot women experience in their lives. Donna has been a wife, and a mother, and has had those two roles taken from her, but its actions like that that made her into the stronger person she is today. Plus, Donna Troy is...sorta my personal Comic Book Crush, so of course Im going to make her the most powerful woman in the DCU."

This idea is truly excellent! :D The only little problem is that you put Diana's name instead of Donna's under "STATUS QUO". ;P
I really love Donna, she really is one of DC's most interesting and richest (from a storytelling point of view) characters. And it's true that despite the fact that many people like to describe Diana as "the perfect woman", she didn't even face half the challenges that most women face in their lives. It does give Donna a slight advantage over Diana.

Shame on DC for not including Donna in the reboot. :rage:
