Supermania has taken New York by storm.

New York City has a hero that they can count on, and his name is Superman. Along with his fellow team of heroes, the Avengers, the man dubbed 'The Sentinel of Liberty' has filled the void of truth, justice, and heroism that hasn't been seen since World War II with Captain America.

Sadly, though, Superman himself cannot shake the feeling that something is wrong. Ever since he discovered that a former SHIELD agent known as Bruce Banner used his own DNA to make himself into a villianous 'Hulk' like monster, Clark has been questioning himself, wondering if his place in this universe is truely worth all the pain and bloodshed that had come before him.

Needing to find a means to locate more insider information, Superman has taken advantage of his Clark kent alterego and gotten a job as a reporter in New York's most looked at newspaper, the Daily Bugle, working alongside his cousin, Peter Parker.

However, Clark eventually is sent to interview a man who, alongside the rarely seen king of Atlantis, Namor, is the last surviving costumed avenger who fought alongside Captain America himself. Daniel Lyons, the Black Marvel.

Clark learns that Daniel actually followed Captain America on a fighterplane and witnessed the destruction of the craft he was on. He witnessed a strange item come from the sky and destroy the craft, killing Cap. That was when Clark realizes that the item could have very well been his own craft when he was an infant, coming to Earth.

The factor that he was the one responsible for the death of America's greatest hero soon becomes too much for Clark to bare. he needed answers.

Going off of Daniel's little information, as Superman, Clark began to look for answers with complete disregard for rules. He started with Hydra, crashing one of their global headquarters, and coming face to face with one of Cap's oldest enemies: the now heavily crippled Red Skull. With no look, Superman left, having no idea that the Skull was coming shortly upon the creation of his most powerful weapon: The Cosmic Cube.

Back at Stark Tower, while talking to his fellow Avengers about the late, great Captain America, Superman discovers another truth: android member 'The Vision' was actually a member of Cap's Invader's team, the Human Torch. Seems that the Torch was actually with Captain America and Bucky when their craft was destroyed by Kal's rocket, which destroyed his original body, and led to Ultron finding him, re-programing him, and turning him into the Vision. Though unaware that that was Kal's ship, Vision becomes curious as to why Superman would ask. He simply shakes his head and passes it off.

So it stands revealed: Superman led to the death of Captain America. It stands as his cross to bare. But if anything, he had to make sure nothing about his Kryptonian past could cause anymore harm. He knows that a man with his DNA is currently being held by SHIELD, and the only place he could safely be held is in his Fortress.

The Hulk is his DNA, so the Hulk is his problem.

Superman was going to the SHIELD hellicarrier...

...but he was going to need help.
