Titans Beyond (Part 1)

It was the only file blocked in Nightwing's account on the Batcomputer, and Jack Drake, the newest teen to call himself 'Robin' wanted answers.

Who were the Teen Titans?

Ever since Terry quit being Batman about a month ago, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing understood that it was essential to turn up their game if Gotham City were to stay safe. That included learning the ins and outs of the hero game.

However, jack found a file simply labeled 'TT' inside the Batcomputer, but it seemed that only Nightwing had access to the file. It rose a question even further when Jack searched the internet for any data on the Teen Titans. It didn't take long for Jack to find out a few answers.

Robin. Beast Boy. Starfire. Raven. Cyborg. The Teen Titans.

Jack couldn't believe it. When Dick Grayson was Robin, he led his own team of superheroes. But why is it that he never spoke of them, and whatever happened to the Titans?

Jack made his way over to Dick's apartment, and after some gentle goating, Dick finally told the truth...

Shortly after Bruce took Robin under his wing, it became clear that, despite having plenty of heart, Dick simply wasn't ready to be a full fledged crimefighter. At least...not yet.

So, Batman sent Robin to a west coast based city with a simple goal: protect it. Quickly, Robin became quite the solo hero unto his own, but quickly, Robin made friends of his own: the alien princess, Starfire. The half man-half machine, Cyborg. The one man zoo, Beast Boy. The daughter of a demon, Raven. Together, they formed a team. The Teen Titans.

Together, the team of young heroes stopped the worst of the worst when it came to the forces of evil. Slade. Brother Blood. Trigon. Even the Masters of Evil. One by one, the Titans defeated their enemies, and gained new members to their teams: Speedy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Bumblebee, and others.

Jack asked Dick whatever happened to the Teen Titans. With a soft sigh, Nightwing revealed the truth of his lost team...

When Dick got older and entered college, he left the Titans, but left it in good hands. Cyborg became team leader, and Speedy, Kid Flash, and Aqualad all became core team members. However, after Dick had an ill fated relationship with Barbara Gordon and an even further falling out with Bruce, Dick became Nightwing and rejoined his team.

Nightwing's relationship with Starfire was better then ever. He even proposed to her. They were ready to get married, but then...it happened.

Raven's body was taken over by the spirit of Trigon and attacked Starfire. She brutally beat her, despite her Titans' friends attempting to stop Raven, but it wasn't until Beast Boy stepped forward and admitted his love that Raven's mind returned and Trigon was defeated once and for all.

Starfire was heartbroken. She expected Nightwing to be her hero. To step forward and save the day. but he failed her. Because of that, she couldn't see herself marrying Dick Grayson. Starfire returned to Tamaran, and heartbroken, Nightwing quit the once Teen Titans...

The last time the Titans stood together (sans Starfire) was the Near Apocolypes of 2009, a battle that sadly led to the death of former Titan and current (at the time) Justice League member, Speedy.

Jack asked whatever happened to the rest of the members of the Teen Titans. Dick smiled softly, knowing exactly what became of his former teammates...

* Kid Flash eventually became founding member of the Justice League, the Flash. As time went on, Flash ebcame one of the first celebrity superheroes, not quite as fast as he used to be, but now is happily married to his wife, Linda, and is enjoying his semi-retirement in Coast City, still throwing on the red tights whenever trouble arises.

*Aqualad eventually changed his name to "The Tempest" and fought during the Near-Apocolypse. However, after Aquaman's disappearence during the battle, Tempest took voer the kingly duties of Atlantis, a role her still has to this day.

*Bumblebee became the new head-mistress of the Hive Academy, using it as a means to train the next generation of young heroes.

*Raven, blaming herself for the attack on Starfire, went into exile. Where she currently is is stil unknown...

*Beast Boy swayed away from the superhero business and found himself attempting to become an actor. After a single starring role in a low budget film, "The Legend of Turtle Boy", BB went on to play animal roles in films and tv shows. Still, a spotlight is still a spotlight...

*Cyborg, returning to his real name, Victor Stone, went through a fair amount of robotic surgery, taking on an apperance more like his old life before 'the accident'. After Lex Luthor's disapperance following his battle with Darkseid, Stone eventually climbed the corportate ladder and is now the chief CEO of LexCorp, or as its now known, StoneTech.

Soon, Jack as Dick if the Teen Titans would ever reunite. Dick simply shook his head and said the words he never wanted to hear himself say...

"The Teen Titans are dead..."

EPILOGUE:

Outsider member, the Ravager, had heard a bank alarm and decided to check it out. Inside, the night guards were laid out, obviously clocked due to violent shots to the head. However, as she checked one's pulse, she found herself suckered by a roundhouse kick to the head.

Ravanger went flying as she looked up at her attacker, in complete shot. It was a man wearing a mask that looked just like her own. Half black, half orange.

"...S...Slade?"

"Come now, Rose...whatever happened to the name you used to call me? What was it again? Oh yeah...Dad."

"But...you're dead."

"Was...but I got better. And don't worry, my apprentice. Now that Im back, I'll be able to destory the once Teen Titans at long last..."
